My sweet tooth is in high gear and boy o’ boy do I have a wonderful, warm recipe for all my Dicks & Dolls. Below you will find a perfect fall treat that will keep you warm and fuzzy all year round.

Sugar-Plums

Preparation Time: 3 minutes

Total Time: 20 minutes

Serves 1

Ingredients

10 organic small plums

2 tablespoons of organic extra virgin olive oil

2 tablespoons of organic agave

1/2 teaspoon of organic cinnamon

1 teaspoon of organic rosemary

Directions

  1. Wash and dry the plums.
  2. Cut the plum in halves (removing the pit).
  3. Place the plums into a small pot.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  5. Add 2 tablespoons of agave.
  6. Add 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon.
  7. Add 1 teaspoon of rosemary.
  8. Mix together.
  9. Place pot over a medium fire with the top on.
  10. Stir the ingredients every two minutes.
  11. Cook for 17 minutes.
  12. Place into a beautiful serving dish.
  13. Serve!

Believe it or not I am over sugar (at least the way it makes me feel but long live the taste!). I want to make a dessert that is sweet enough to pass as a sugary treat and I want it raw (of course!). Dolls, my Figs, Bananas, Almonds Oh My will fulfill your sweet desires and keep your body looking good. Plus, this dessert is so quick and easy you can whip it up anytime in under 10 minutes!

Figs, Bananas, Almonds Oh My

Preparation Time: 3 minutes

Total Time: 9 minutes

Serves 4

Ingredients

1 cup of organic, raw almonds

2 cups of organic figs (about 14 figs)

2 bananas

Directions

  1. Wash and dry the figs.
  2. Chop off the tops to the figs. Set aside.
  3. Place 1 cup of almonds into your Cuisinart.
  4. Blend for 30 seconds.
  5. Place the grounded up almonds into a large bowl.
  6. Place the 2 cups of figs into the Cuisinart.
  7. Blend for 30 seconds.
  8. Add the figs into bowl with the almonds.
  9. Peel the 2 bananas.
  10. Break up the bananas into 4 quarters using your hands.
  11. Place the bananas into your Cuisinart.
  12. Blend for 10 seconds.
  13. Add the bananas into the bowl with the figs and almonds.
  14. Mix together.
  15. Place an equal amount into 4 serving dishes.
  16. Garnish with a few almonds if you’d like.
  17. Serve!

Apple Cobbler?

The fall weather brings in the cuddles! Dolls, it’s time to make some apple cobbler and get your snuggle on with Dick.

Organic, Flour-free Apple Cobbler

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 40 minutes

Serves 6

Ingredients

1/2 cup of organic freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 2 lemons)

1/2 cup of organic freshly squeezed orange juice (1 orange)

6 organic Mcintosh apples

2 tablespoons of organic, raw honey

1 teaspoon of organic cinnamon

2 cups of organic, raw pecans

1/2 cup of organic light brown sugar

1 cup of organic, old fashioned, gluten-free rolled oats

2 tablespoons of organic light agave nectar

2 tablespoons of organic extra virgin olive oil

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

  1. Using a hand juicer, juice 2 lemons and set aside.
  2. Using a hand juicer, juice 1 orange and set aside.
  3. Wash and dry the apples.
  4. Cut the apples into thin slices (about 16 slices per apple).
  5. Once you’ve cut the first apple, place the slices into a large bowl and pour both the lemon and orange juice overtop the slices.
  6. After you slice each apple, make sure you add it into the bowl and mix it into the juices so that the slices do not brown.
  7. Place the apples into a glass casserole dish.
  8. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of honey overtop the apple slices.
  9. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of cinnamon overtop the apple slices and honey.
  10. Place 2 cups of pecans into a Cuisinart.
  11. Blend for about 1 minute (you want to break up the pecans and keep it chunky).
  12. Place the freshly ground pecans into a large bowl and add 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1 cup of rolled oats, and 1 teaspoon of nutmeg. Mix together.
  13. Spread the pecans, brown sugar, rolled oats and nutmeg overtop the apples, honey and cinnamon.
  14. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of agave overtop the pecans, brown sugar, rolled oats and nutmeg.
  15. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of olive oil overtop the pecans, brown sugar, rolled oats and nutmeg.
  16. Place the glass casserole dish into the oven.
  17. Bake for 30 minutes.
  18. Remove from the oven.
  19. Serve!

After a wonderful evening with Dick I awoke with a hankering for a sweet snack. Thank goodness today is Sweet Sundae Sunday!!! This recipe is gluten-free, dairy free and raw…just the way I like it

Strawberry and Banana Sparkle

Preparation Time: 2 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

Serves 2

Ingredients

2 cups of organic strawberries (about 10 strawberries)

1 cup of a organic banana (1 banana)

1 tablespoon of raw, organic honey

2 tablespoons of raw, organic shredded coconut

Directions

  1. Wash the strawberries.
  2. Slice the tops off the strawberries.
  3. Cut the strawberries into halves. Set aside.
  4. Peel the banana.
  5. Slice the banana into desired size. Set aside.
  6. Place the strawberries and banana slices into a large bowl and mix together.
  7. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of honey over the fruit. Mix together.
  8. Sprinkle the shredded coconut over the fruit. Mix together.
  9. Serve!

After a very interesting email I received from a loyal reader I decided to take  his requests into consideration and am going to please him with…cereal. Breakfast with Dick may have just became a little bit easier. My Granola Apple Crunch can be used as a sweet snack, a wonderful breakfast cereal or a fun topping for fruit. I hope this is satisfying Dick.

Granola Apple Crunch

Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Serves 10

Ingredients

3 cups of organic, gluten-free, old fashioned rolled oats

1/4 cup of organic brown sugar

1 tablespoon of organic cinnamon

1/3 cup of organic, raw honey

1/4 cup of organic extra virgin olive oil

1 teaspoon of almond extract

1 cup of raw almonds

3 organic pink lady apples

Directions

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

  1. Place parchment paper over a baking sheet. Set aside.
  2. Place the 3 cups of oats, 1/4 cup of brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon into a large bowl. Blend together using your hands. Set aside.
  3. Place 1/3 cup of honey, 1/4 cup of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of almond extract into a small bowl and mix together. Set aside.
  4. Peel the 3 apples.
  5. Grate the 3 apples by using a hand grater (cheese grated ).
  6. Add the freshly grated apples to the dry ingredients in the large bowl and mix together using your hands.
  7. Add half of the wet ingredients to the large bowl and continue to mix together using your hands.
  8. Add the cup of raw almonds to the large bowl.
  9. Pour the rest of the wet ingredients into the large bowl and mix together one last time using your hands.
  10. Spread the mixture evenly onto the parchment paper.
  11. Place the baking sheet into the oven.
  12. Bake for 20 minutes.
  13. Pull the baking sheet out of the oven.
  14. Allow to cool.
  15. Serve!

As all you Dolls know it isn’t easy making good decisions all the time especially when it comes to food. Well, I’m here to help! Instead of buying pre-made food with all of those added preservatives why don’t we make something simple, delicious and made from scratch? Time for dessert!

Homemade Apple Sauce

Preparation Time: 2 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

Serves 2

Ingredients

2 organic Pink Lady apples

organic cinnamon

Directions

  1. Peel both apples.
  2. Cut all four sides of the apple leaving the core to chuck.
  3. Place the apple slices into your food processor.
  4. Turn the food processor on for about 2 minutes.
  5. Place the apple sauce into cute serving dishes.
  6. Sprinkle cinnamon over top the apple sauce.
  7. Serve!

This amazing dish is gluten-free, vegan and it’s good for you! Who could ask for more than that in a dessert?

Peaches n’ Cashew Crunch

Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Serves 4

Ingredients

1 cup of organic cashews

4 organic peaches

12 organic Madjool dates

1/3 cup of organic brown sugar

Directions

  1. Put 1 cup of cashews into the Cuisinart.
  2. Blend for about 5 seconds (you want the cashews to be chunky and broken up).
  3. Place the grounded cashews and brown sugar into a small bowl.
  4. Mix together and set aside.
  5. Remove the pits from the 3 peaches. Set aside.
  6. Remove the pits from the 12 Madjool dates. Set aside.
  7. Place the 3 peaches and 12 Madjool dates into the Cuisinart. Blend for about 10 seconds leaving the mixture creamy with a few chunks.
  8. Place the mixture evenly into four small glass dishes.
  9. Place the cashew/brown sugar mixture on top of each peach/date mixture.
  10. Torch the top of each dish for about 25 seconds.
  11. Cut the last peach into four big slices.
  12. Place each peach slice on top of each dish.
  13. Serve!

Dick, wanna tango?

I finally have my health back and I’m ready to rock n’ roll. I am jumping right back into the kitchen with a fantastic dessert topping. You may put this on your ice-cream, yogurt, toast or even rice. It’s completely your call! I’m sure I’m not the only one who is trying to be good since it is still bikini season (eh, Dolls?) so I recommend putting this wonderful topping onto some well cooked brown rice.

Tango Mango Topping

Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 13 minutes

Serves 4

Ingredients

1 1/2 tablespoons of organic extra virgin olive oil

1 tablespoon of organic rosemary

1/4 cup of organic light brown sugar

2 ripe organic mangos

Directions

  1. Slice both mangos. Set aside.
  2. Add 1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil to a saucepan over a medium flame.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon of rosemary and simmer for 2 minutes (the aroma in the air is heavenly).
  4. Add both the 1/4 cup of brown sugar and sliced mango.
  5. Allow all the ingredients to simmer and stir every 30-45 seconds for the next 5 minutes.
  6. Serve overtop your food choice (i.e. brown rice, ice-cream, etc.).

For todays Sweet Sunday Sunday I’m going to show you how to make a fun summer treat. Frozen bananas are delicious and easy to make. For those of you Dicks and Dolls who don’t eat dairy I swear to you that it tastes like ice-cream.

Frozen Bananas

Preparation Time: 3 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes to make and overnight in the freezer

6 Servings

Ingredients

6 organic bananas

bamboo sticks

parchment paper

Directions

  1. Slowly peel the banana making sure not to break the banana in halves.
  2. Poke a bamboo stick through the bottom of the banana and gracefully slid it to the top.
  3. Repeat steps 1 & 2 for each banana.
  4. Place a piece of parchment paper on the shelf in the freezer.
  5. Place each banana on the parchment paper.
  6. Leave the bananas in the freezer overnight.
  7. Serve!

Forget the oven today and let’s make it raw! How about a sweeter than sweet Raw Carrot Cake? This fantastic dessert is sure to please everyone. :-)

Raw Carrot Cake

Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 100 minutes (including 60 minutes of refrigerator time)

Makes 9″ cake

Crust

Ingredients

2 cups of organic raw almonds

1/2 teaspoon of Kosher salt

1/2 cup of organic Medjool dates

1/3 cup of organic and raw agave syrup

1/2 cup of organic and raw sunflower seeds

Directions

  1. Line a 9″ pie pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. Place the almonds into a grinder. Grind until the almonds are finely grounded. Set aside.
  3. Take the Medjool dates and chop up finely. Set aside.
  4. Place the grounded almonds, chopped dates, salt and agave syrup into a Cuisinart. Blend until creamy.
  5. Place the mixture into a large bowl and add in the sunflower seeds. Mix well with a wooden spoon.
  6. Add the mixture into the 9″ pie pan. Press the mixture into the pie pan evenly. Set aside.

Filling

Ingredients

2 cups of organic carrots

2 cups of organic pineapple

1/3 cup of organic raw cashews

Directions

  1. Peel and wash the carrots. Chop into small pieces and set aside.
  2. Peel and cut the pineapple. Rinse off and set aside.
  3. Place the cashews inside of a grinder. Grind until finely grounded. Set aside.
  4. Place the carrots, pineapple, and cashews into the Cuisinart. Blend until the ingredients are combined.
  5. Spread the filling evenly onto the crust.
  6. Place the pie pan and contents into the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Frosting

Ingredients

1 1/3 cups of organic raw macadamia nuts

2 cups of organic Medjool dates

1/4 cup of organic and raw agave syrup

1 organic lemon

Directions

  1. Place the macadamia nuts into a grinder. Grind until finely grounded. Set aside.
  2. Chop the Medjool dates into small pieces. Set aside.
  3. Juice the lemon, remove the seeds and set aside.
  4. Place the finely ground macadamia nuts, chopped Medjool dates, agave syrup and lemon juice into the Cuisinart. Blend until creamy.
  5. Spread the frosting overtop the already chilled filling and crust.
  6. Place into the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
